At an arraignment in Boston , Philip Markoff pleads not guilty to charges of first-degree murder in the case known as the "Craigslist killing". The accused is believed to have shot a masseuse in a Boston Hotel on April 14th. The 22-year old medical student is also facing six other charges including armed robbery and kidnapping in another case. That case involves another woman he allegedly met through Craigslist.

Protests continued Sunday (June 21) across the United States to call for an end to the violence in Iran. A rally was held outside the United Nations building in New York city. Protesters were calling on the UN body to not recognize the election results in Iran. Meantime, Iranian-Americans also took to the streets in Kansas City, Missouri. Demonstrators there said they're fighting for basic human rights in Iran.

A woman was killed when a train carrying ethanol derailed and exploded near Rockford, Illinois on Friday (June 19). Authorities said that the woman was stopped at a railroad crossing when her car was engulfed in flames after the Canadian National freight train left the tracks. More than 600 houses were evacuated as a precaution, authorities said.
